Our Story
WeNeedARoom was born from the experiences of Naz, the mother of our team leader. As an immigrant engineer who moved to Germany 25 years ago, Naz witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by international students and researchers in finding affordable and suitable housing. She dedicated herself to helping these individuals navigate the complexities of the German housing market.
Over the years, the influx of international students and researchers has grown significantly, further amplifying the need for accessible and reliable housing solutions. Naz also observed that many elderly homeowners, often with underutilized space in their homes, struggled with navigating online platforms and finding suitable tenants.
Recognizing this unmet need, we decided to create WeNeedARoom. Our mission is to connect those seeking short-term accommodations, such as students, researchers, and travelers, with welcoming and affordable housing options provided by elderly homeowners. We aim to foster meaningful cultural exchange while providing a valuable service to both sides of the equation.
